Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: June 2026

In Plain Language

Puck Gear earns a commission when you buy a product through a shop link on this site. It costs you nothing extra. We use that income to keep the site running, fund product research, and pay for the time it takes to maintain accurate fit data.

Commission rates have no effect on which products appear or how they are ranked. Every skate in our database is there because it matches a real set of fit criteria, and the scoring system runs the same way regardless of which retailer pays the highest commission.

Programs We Participate In

Puck Gear is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and Amazon.ca.

We also participate, or may participate, in affiliate programs run by other hockey-equipment retailers. Where a shop link points to a retailer other than Amazon, the same disclosure applies: we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you.

How We Keep Recommendations Independent

The product scoring system ranks skates by fit match against your inputs (player category, width, foot volume, skill level). Commission rate is not a variable in that scoring. A skate that matches your profile poorly will not appear at the top regardless of its margin.

Where two skates score similarly, the order between them may shift based on availability and which retailers carry the model. It will not shift based on which retailer pays a higher commission.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure exists to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). It also serves to satisfy disclosure requirements of the affiliate programs we participate in.

You can find the disclosure linked from the footer of every page on this site, and a brief version appears alongside our product recommendations.
